General Information

This beautiful villa located up in the hills above La Garde-Freinet boasts sensational views across the hills to the Bay of St Tropez. It sleeps 6 guests comfortably, with a spacious double height sitting room, infinity pool and a large terrace providing a tranquil spot to relax.

The garden has two areas for outside dining, one in the Loggia next to the pool or on the terrace outside the kitchen. The house is fenced, gated and is very private.

The villa is full of charm and decorated in a traditional French style, all rooms are fitted with air conditioning, plus due to it being located up in the hills, with double height ceilings and large doors onto the terrace, it remains a cool space even in the height of summer.

The large sitting room comprises living/dining. Table to seat 10, two sofas and a fireplace with a working wood fire.

All of the bedrooms have spectacular views over the hills. The Master Bedroom has double doors leading onto the terrace that stretches the full length of the house.

From the terrace and garden you can enjoy breath taking views over the hills and sea beyond.

There are two additional double bedrooms, one of which also has double doors leading straight onto the terrace to the pool area.

An English speaking house manager will greet you on arrival and will be available by phone throughout your stay.

Arrival times are from 4pm onwards. Check out before 10am

The House

The Kitchen

The kitchen looks out over the Bay of St Tropez and access to the terrace through a set of double doors. The kitchen is well equipped with 5 gas rings, an electric oven, a fridge freezer, kettle, microwave, Nespresso machine, dishwasher and washing machine. There is a huge collection of cookware and cooking equipment.

The Sitting room and dining areas 

The Salon is separated into two areas. There are two sofas and an armchair at one end with the TV and a log fireplace. The dining area has a side board and a large dining table to comfortably seat 8-10 guests. There is a large bookcase along one wall with a good selection of books, boardgames (including Chess, Backgammon, Scrabble, Colour Brain and Draughts), DVDs and cards. This double height room is light and airy, even in the hot summer months. There are two sets of double doors which lead out to the covered terrace and the open terrace beyond. The terrace runs the full length of the house and looks out over the magical views of the hills and the Bay of St Tropez.

The Bedrooms and Bathrooms

Bedroom 1

Bedroom 1 is at the far end of the house down two steps from the level of the main house. It has a set of double doors giving you access to a private area of the terrace with two sunloungers. Views from this bedroom are exceptional and watching the sun rise with a cup of tea in bed is a joy. It has a King size bed, chest of drawers and built in cupboards. This bedroom has its own bathroom with a shower, loo and basin. Airconditioning, Hairdryer

Bedroom 2

Bedroom 2 again has sensational views out over the hills through two arched windows. It has a king size bed with a dressing table and built in cupboards. The bathroom for this bedroom is opposite, across the small landing. This bathroom has a bath with a shower, a loo and a basin Airconditioning, Hairdryer

Bedroom 3

Bedroom 3 This bedroom is at the top end of the house, accessed from the sitting room, up 5 steps. This bedroom has a king size bed, dressing table, inbuild cupboards and an ensuite bathroom with a walk in shower, loo and basin. There are additional cupboards in the bathroom. This bedroom has double doors which open out onto the terrace by the pool. There is a small table and two chairs underneath a wisteria where you can have your morning coffee watching the sun coming up.. Airconditioning and hairdryer.

Study / Bedroom 4 

This room can be used as another area to read or do your emails. However if you have an extra couple of guests, this can be made into a twin bedroom. We would suggest that this room is only suitable for children or young adults. The internal access to Bedroom 1 is through this room, although you can also access bedroom 1 along the terrace outside. The guests in this bedroom could either share the bathroom with Bedroom 1 or the bathroom down the corridor which is used by bedroom 2. Airconditioning.

 A cot is also available on request.

Eating areas, Terrace and Pool

The main terrace runs the full length of the house on multiple levels, the centre part of this terrace is accessed from the sitting room and kitchen. The terrace has a dining table which seats 8 people, plus sofas, chairs and loungers. Just outside the French doors from the sitiing room is a smaller covered area under an arched loggia. At the lower end of the terrace there are steps down to a semi-private terrace giving plenty of different areas to sit and relax. On from here there are steps down the Boule pitch.

At the other end of the terrace and the house you find the swimming pool with six sun loungers, a beautiful arched  Loggia containing a comfortable seating area and another dining table which seats eight. There is a pizza oven and a gas bbq.

The beautifully designed infinity swimming pool is found at the southern end of the villa. The pool has rounded edges. Access to the swimming pool is down a gradual slope, allowing guests with accessibility issues to easily enter and exit. There is a charming fountain on one side. The pool is alarmed.

All along the terrace there is seating and rattan furniture, giving all of the guests the ability to find a tranquil place to sit while soaking up the spectacular views.

If guests would like a private chef to cook for them during their stay please ask. We have a couple of people who we highly recommend – early booking is recommended as they get extremely busy in the summer months

 Alternatively we can also organise for food to be freshly cooked and placed in the freezer for your arrival.

A pre arrival shop is another option, so your fridge and drinks fridge is stocked and ready for you when you arrive.

The villa is fully cleaned once a week, however if you would like a mid week clean during your stay, please let us know and this can be arranged. There will be an additional charge.

We are happy to recommend a Taxi service, along with bike hire and other excursions, please just ask.

Location

The beautiful village of La Garde-Freinet has a market on Wednesdays and Sundays as well a small supermarket, a butcher, a bakery, a pharmacy and many local shops. You will find a couple of charming restaurants in the village and if you are up for a touch of exploring, there are walks up through the forests and into the hills. Other local towns and villages also host markets – ideal for everything from fresh produce to summer fashions.
Only twenty five minutes away from St Tropez, the house is ideally located to allow guests to drop into the glamorous harbour, to dine on the waterfront or have a sundowner while watching the boats. The area is home to many restaurants and cafes, as well as the numerous beautiful beaches of the South of France.

Pampelonne Beach (30 mins away. Is the most famous beach on the French Riviera)

Boulevard de Patch. Without a doubt the most iconic area of St Tropez’s Plage de Pampelonne, Boulevard Patch draws in the world’s elite, home to the world-famous Club 55.

Tahiti Plage and Nikki Beach (35 mins)

Gigaro (30 mins) – A lovely family beach

Only 15 minutes away is the beautiful 12th Century medieval village of Grimaud with plenty of restaurants, a fort, a lovely wine bar and a famous patisserie.

The nearest airports are either Nice Côte d’Azur Airport or Marseille Provence Airport. Both of which are 1h 20mins drive.

Terms & Conditions

The Booking Process: A deposit of 50% of the rent will be payable on signing the Rental Agreement, with the 50% balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to the commencement of the tenancy.

Security Deposit: ADeposit: A Booking and Security Deposit of £500 will also be payable on signing the Rental Agreement. This will secure the booking and will cover the cost of replacing/making good any losses, breakages and/or damages incurred during the rental, and any exceptional cleaning work which may be required at the end of the tenancy. It will be refunded (less any deductions as outlined above) within 4 weeks of the conclusion of the tenancy. Tenants should advise us at the end of each rental of any breakages, losses and/or damages. This is in lieu of an inventory. The housekeeper will also check and advise of any damage/loss.

Minimum stay: Unless otherwise agreed, all rentals will be for a minimum of 1 week, and will begin and end on a Saturday.

Arrival Time and Departure times: Tenants should arrive as soon as possible after 5pm on the commencement day, and should leave before 10 am on the agreed day of departure. They will be welcomed on arrival, given a tour of the property and shown how everything works, as well as given the code for the gate.

Number of People: There should not be more than 8 people staying in the property at any one time.

Energy costs are included: The energy costs are included in the rental price.

Heating costs are included: The heating costs are included in the rental price. 

Linen and towels: Bed linen, bath and pool towels are provided free of charge.  The cleaning of the linen and towels are included in the rental price. These will be changed on a weekly basis.

Smoking: No smoking allowed inside the property. Caution should be taken when smoking outside during the summer months as the risk of fire can be extremely high.

Optional / additional services available: any additional services, if available, (eg extra cleaning or cooking) will be agreed in advance at a pre-agreed rate per hour. These costs will be the sole responsibility of the tenant.
